Whew!! That is a poser, Owme! I haven't had much luck finding anything like it. A few questions:
Do you remember if those "petals" are soft or stiff? Soft would indicate actual petals. Stiff would indicate sepals or remains of a seed pod.
Do you remember if there was evidence of stamens and/or pistils in the "flowers"?
Do those leaves in the picture go with the "flowers"? Or are the flowers coming from a different plant below or behind those leaves. If the latter, do you remember what the proper leaves looked like?
