Planted some begonia corms mid feb, watered them in and put them on a windowsill. But what next ! They are drying out-do I water them again or leave them alone ? Can someone please give me an idiots guide as I haven't grown them before

Hopefully you have them the right way up for a start G.head !!!! It is easy to get that wrong and dont bury them too deeply either. Then you just need to wait for the buds to begin to grow, they will be a pinky colour , that is when you start to give them more water but dont overdo it as they can go mouldy & begin to rot. My last years begonias took so long to sprout and out of twelve corms I only got three! I will not be growing them again this year, I love them but find them to slow. Hope it all goes well.

thanks for info guys ,but I'm more confused now , as kennyboy says keep moist and grandmage says just wait till the buds start to show ( ! ) So do I give more water to keep them moist or not ....... ps was extra careful to make sure thay went in with dented side upmost and only about half an inch of compost covering them. all advice appreciated ( but I'm beginning to wish I had bought plugs - at least you can see what's going on or not as the case may be..........)

Just keep gently moist dont over do it at the moment and when they begin to grow, water accordingly. You will have to be patient with corms they could take months, mine did! or you might be lucky. They should reward you come summer.

have you planted them the right way up.look at them and you will see there is a dent on them the right way up.also the dent on top of compost or whatever not to deep keep moist but do not fill the dent with water hope this helps.from an idiot ken.
