Nandina Domestica ( Heavenly Bamboo )
I saw this gorgeous plant in B + Q this morning, i've never seen it before. Has anyone grown it and can it be invasive ?

No, not invasive as Sheila's already said - because they are not a bamboo, they are the berberis family.
Great plants, i have one here.

Acquire another plant and in a good summer you'll get long-lasting berry to follow the flower. Look also for Nandina domestica 'Firepower'. It may appeal to you. Completely different habit (neat dwarf habit, with slightly crimped apple green leaves, also evergreen), and colours up prettily orange (through the green) in autumn and winter. Worthy

Thanks Worthy.I've never come across Heavenly Bamboo in any garden centre, but i'll look out for Firepower.

It's not going to be labelled Heavenly Bamboo, Worthy, it will always be under its Latin name, garden centres never use the common name of a plant.
If you asked for Nandina domestica Firepower they'll take you right to it.
I bought one a couple of years ago and i love it !

Good choice! I love it, and have two, either side of a front window (see my pics). They are not invasive, can grow to 6 ft and the evergreen leaves change to bronze and red at any time of year.
