Lycoris.....
I've done my usual thing and rushed in without thinking. So I now have some Lycoris bulbs, but the web advice is conflicting. So has anyone had any experience of growing these - all advice will be appreciated.

Hi Meanie! I've done the same thing - did you get them from Lidl? I got carried away and bought Lycoris and Gloriosa, then came home and found out what I'd got. Keeping a large tender climber (that's the Gloriosa) going will be a challenge! It looks like the Lycoris should be a bit easier than my other "take-a-gamble" plant.

Beattie - yes, I did get them from Lidl.
I saw that they had Gloriosa, but as I already have G.superba I didn't bother. It's a doddle to care for!

That's a relief! I wondered what I'd let myself in for when I looked it up online!
I've just potted up the single (last one) Lycoris.

Beattie - I'll do a quick blog on the Gloriosa in a couple of weeks when I pot them in fresh compost and water in.

I went and looked at mine (did you see my photo as Red Spider Lily?) and its shoulders are above the soil line. I keep it watered, but haven't fed it very often. It already has a few leaves coming up. I found the red is less fussy than the yellow. I treated them the same and the yellow ones didn't make it. They don't have to be divided very often.
