Acer palmatum dissectum. Our small plant has now reached over 10 feet high and at least that circumference. It is too big for the space. Advice regarding pruning would be appreciated

looked at my book and it said,'Pruning not necessary-cut out dead wood in spring'......so i would reduce the size little by little in spring so you can get a nice shape.
