I have lots of moss growing on my roof. I wish to deal with the problem permanently. The solution I would like to use is to fit copper strips onto the ridge of the roof to create a weak copper solution when it rains as this will kill and prevent moss. However I also collect rainwater to use on the garden. So, my question is will the copper in the rainwater have a detrimental affect on the garden when I use it to water plants etc?

If nobody knows the answer why not experiment - leave a copper strip in some rainwater for a few days and use the water on a plant that doesn't matter and see what happens. I am very surprised that you would actually get any copper dissolving in the rainwater though - where did you hear of this idea please?
