Use a tray without holes with water in, and let the seed tray rest in it until the compost gets damp.

whenever watering try to use the mist sprayer setting on your hose-pipe! Not so intense !?!

Water the compost before you sown the seed then water again once you have sown the seed. After that simply keep moist but not too wet as this will encourage mould. Think once or twice a week generally.
