I planted a quite a few daffodils in the lawn last year, they are coming up blind, if lifted and replanted will this encourage them to flower or am I better of buying new bulbs to plant in september

I suggest you feed them after they should have flowered, and resist the temptation to mow off the leaves til they've died right back. That will give them the best chance of making flowers for next year. If they don't flower in 2012, then I'd give up on them.

I don't think that they will now flower this year, as the daffodils are already coming in to flower, and so if there anre no flower heads, they probably will not flower.
The only daffodils that I think should have less growth are the late ones that are on sale for indoors instead.
You could move them, but they probably won't flower until next yaer, but make sure you keep the foliage to gather energy from the sunlight ready for 2012.
