I have a plant in the garden that my mum planted over 40 years ago still comes out in flower this time of the year. (march / april) I was told it was called snow on the mountain but not able to find it on the web any ideas? *smile*

I think you are thinking of Cerastium Snow in Summer? but looking at the leaves I agree with it being Arabis albida

Snow in summer does usually (but not always) mean Cerastium tomentosum, Drc, but I've heard Arabis called Snow on the Mountain before, though I've also heard it applied to Cerastium. These blasted common names...
