When is it safe to move a holly and lilac bush?

Holly is always difficult , suggest you wait till February and reduce the foliage when planting. Lilac is easy but make sure the leaves are all fallen before moving.. If they are really big, cut round them now with a spade and then tread them back and lift in spring .
