I am looking for summer flowering evergreen shrubs to plant in pots on patio, hopefully where the flowers last more than a month. Has anyone any suggestions? Also, I have planted tree lily bulbs which are in pots in
conservatory. When is it safe to put outside without doing any damage?

Not many shrubs, apart from roses, which aren't evergreen, will flower all summer. But how about Hebe? The large flowered kinds come into flower as the summer wears on and last til the frosts. Try H. 'Midsummer Beauty', or similar. They tend to have larger leaves than some sorts. Plant small spring bulbs (Crocus, Jonquil Narcissus or Scilla) around the base for Spring colour.
