hi g if you want to stop earwigs in dahlias fill a plant pot with straw or crumpled newspaper put a cane near the plant sitting the pot upside down.check pots in the morning then tip the contents in a bucket of water and drown the little bug...s or burn em how ever you like.for slugs try bird friendly slug pellets.good luck.

For the slugs I use copper tape around my pots It seems to work
