Could I please have some advice as to I can rescue my rhubarb?.It seems to have gone to seed,with large flower like bulbs on the top, its grown very high, and has crinkly leaves.

If it is trying to flower, it means it very strong and healthy but as Bamboo says, you need to remove the flower stem asap

Wow, this is very early for it to be flowering!

Seen loads of reports this year of early flowering in rhubarb, stereogram, must be something to do with our severe winter, though its possible they're all the same variety.

Hi eileendiver,
Not sure if this will help but as soon as I see mine budding I put a big black pot over the buds to force the first stems. They grow lovely long and tender with hardly any leaf tip. I've never seen mine flower.

If its putting out flower stems, remove them at the base now, don't wait, and continue to remove any more that appear.
