Help, we are desperate. seagulls are stamping up and down on our lawns and then ripping out all the grass.

Hi there,
I've seen seagulls do the" worm tango" but luckily not in my garden.
How about stringing up some old cd's, or tie some carrier bags on canes to flap in the breeze, it's not going to look very nice but that seems to keep the old wood pigeons off my veggie patch, may be it will work on gulls.
Let us know how you get on.
Happy gardening.

For fake owls to work, they will need to be movedevery day, or they will wise up and perch on them!

« Is it too early to plant allium bulbs? should I wait until the autumn.
Peter, I know seagulls are a pest, we have had a big issue with them in our town, but it sounds like they are beating the ground to bring up the worms. Unfortunately the grass is getting in the way!
You need to find a way to deter them altogether; if they nest near to the house you won't get much sleep in the summer months, they are the first ones out and flying noisily in the pre- dawn, at about 2.30am.
Welcome, by the way!
