Depends where you live, none is the answer up here if you want them to produce ripe fruit. You need to have them in a greenhouse.

There are several varieties recommended for outdoors. Try the small fruited ones . It usually says on the seed packet or label which are suitable, but your garden centre will tell you. But even outside they need a sheltered spot and pampering and I do wonder whether they are worth the trouble!

Six of them in huge pots in a greenhouse kept us going for months... they fruited right through October last year.

This really is ' a piece of string question that requires a knowledge of your location and which type of tomato you wish to grow e.g. bush or vine.. Without this information the answer to your question could be very long and equally very wrong.

All, for the summer, but not before mid to end of May should they be put outside.
