i noticed one of our newest members asked a question about why hjs camelia got leaves that have started to curl and looks sick, pjchalk ihave the same problem mine is in a pot we thought the pot was too small, now im thinking is there some virus going round

Firstly, have you got it in the correct compost, Ericacious? is it pot bound? and also vine weevil grubs in the soil can effect camelias in pots, check for small whitish grubs that eat the roots, the adult vine weevil damages the leaves, cutting holes in the edges as a rule, but now is the time to check for the grubs. julien.

thanks julien for your advice, i have got the correct compost will check for weevils ,idont know if pjchalk has theirs in a pot or in the ground funny we,ve both got the same problem all of a sudden

The weather got very warm over the last week and weekend if you've got in a pot in sun then likely hood is you need to water more.

If its not too late to answer your question, it could be a kind of aphid, but can also curl when stressed.

I forgot to add but camelias like rhodi's need watering really well during the summer for a good flowering season the following spring.
