Can a rambling rose, such as Seagull or Albertine, do well in a large pot, as have little space in borders.?

You can try, but the nature of a rambling rose is to produce a lot of top growth, therefore they need a lot of nutrients.

You would probably have more success with a less rampant rambler if using a container. 'Little Rambler' might do well, but there are others. Albertine flowers only once whereas some modern ramblers will repeat. If you google 'rambling roses' you will get loads of suggestions!
