I have a box hedge which was bought as small plants last year, its growing very healthily, but lots of the new leaves have a sticky white substance on them. It curls and appears to have been extruded from a tiny tube. Anyone know what this could be and if it is dangerous?

Hmmm...a picture may be essential. It sounds like one of the skinnier oyster scales, but by no means sure.
