planting acers

My acers have been in pots for 7 years, i would like to plant them in my garden when is the best time to do so?

Just a word of caution - after so long the Acers may well be pot-bound. It might be wise to try to tease out the roots a bit when you plant them. You will have to give them lots of water until they are established. Good luck! I hope they 'take' OK.

Acers are pretty hardy so can be planted now while the soil is still warm and moist. I purchased one in a pot and planted it a couple of weeks ago and it is looking very happy. They need a sheltered position out of strong sun or wind with a moisture retentive, friable soil
