Hi everyone. Ive only just joined GoY and wondered if anyone would be able to help.
Ive just got a Magnolia Stellata about 3-4ft high. I want to grow it in a pot because I would like to move in a couple of years, Im going to buy a really large pot this week end but am I right insaying I need to plant it in Ericacious compost???? Would anyone be able to advise the best way to plant it. Thanks Wendymac

Thanks for your reply Bamboo- I bought a huge plastic pot yesterday from B&Q it's massive and was the biggest they had- It was 12.99.
Just wondering now what I could use for drianage with It being so large-there are holes in the bottom and I'm going to put a few in the sides too. I'll let you know how I get on.

Yes, use ericaceous compost - they don't make great pot subjects because they hate root disturbance and inevitably, as they age, they need potting up into larger containers, and they resent the disturbance as they get older particularly. And welcome to GoY...
