Top one is not an I xiphium (soi dit Dutch Iris) it is more like an I ensata.
The second one is I xiphium.

I would suggest that the photos were taken at different times, the first just now and the second a month ago.
The first looks like a dwarf bearded iris and the second like an bulbus reticulata iris.

Be nice to have some thing to show the size of the flowers.

Both photos taken yesterday Bulbaholic. The second one is in a lot of shade, maybe keeping it back?

If it's not raining tomorrow I'll take you some photos including a tape measure, Owdboggy. Is it height of the plants you want, size of the flower, or both?

I love the colour of the bearded iris in Pic 1 - such a glowing deep purple/blue.

I'm not seeing a beard on the first Iris. My three picks for it, in order of decreasing probability:
Siberian Iris (Iris sibirica hybrids)
Japanese Iris (Iris ensata, probably an heirloom variety)
Pacific Hybrid Iris (complex hybrids of Iris species from the American Pacific Northwest)

Width of flower would be most useful as height is determined by growing conditions.
Still think the second is a Dutch Iris rather than a reticulate one.
And agree with Tug, I cannot see a beard and the leaves look far too narrow for Bearded Iris.

How do I say thanks?
