Nandina Domestica (Heavenly Bamboo) doesn't get berries

I have the above plant (5 years) in a very large pot it gets morning sun from S.East. It is healthy, growing well, produces plenty of flower spikes, however, it never sets berries. What am I doing wrong.

Sounds like the lack of another plant or even two more might be the issue... it also could potentially be too cool, although I wouldn't have thought it's that bad near Hereford.

I found this article from the Telegraph.co.uk. It was published in 2005 and written by Mary Keene about the "Nandina Domestica": This is just an excerpt from that article.
"On my plant, a potted Nandina domestica 'Fire Power', the berries are too small to be the Shanghai equivalent of holly. There could be two reasons for this: the first is that there are male and female versions of the plant, so I should have planted three if I wanted to be certain of berries. Hermaphrodite cultivars do exist, and 'Richmond' sounds like the best bet for those who cannot spare space for a colony.
The second possible reason for my plant's lack of red berries is that our summers are not quite hot enough. Nandina berries tend only to appear in warm southern counties, but as the weather becomes warmer throughout Britain, I think the heavenly bamboo is no longer simply a plant for Londoners. Officially, it loses its leaves in 10 degrees of frost, but it would take a very hard winter to kill it off completely."
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your replies, I did wonder if it was a pollination problem or even not warm enough. I may consider purchasing another one or just be contented with it as it is at least I get the flowers.
Thanks again

Maybe you need to get another plant to fertilise the flower to produce berries?
