Just before they closed, Woolworths had a sale of just about everything and I bought a half dead white poplar. It is now looking wonderful, about 10' tall but in completely the wrong place. Would it be too risky to move it?

I'll have to Steragram, but by then I guess it will be even taller. It is such a lovely little tree and deserves centre stage I feel.

I hope you've got plenty of space Ginellie.
"Tough as old boots, it grows happily in exposed and coastal sites, but needs to be given plenty of space to allow its root system to develop fully. Keep away from drains and foundations. Height to 20m

I think I am right in thinking that the height of your poplar is the same length as its roots - so you will need a vast amount of room eventually!

In that case Cammomile and Beattie maybe I will leave it where it is - about 100 ft from the house. Thank you for your good advice.

If its in completely the wrong place you will have to, but not while its growing. Can you wait until early winter?
