Hello
Last year I pruned my 11'6" lilac down to 10' two weeks after flowering. This is the first year it's not flowered, even though I prune it each year. I still need to prune quite heavily, which will mean cutting 1" thick branches. If I do this now, do you think it will flower next year?

I prune 1/3 of mine hard every year and the untouched 2/3 always flowers. That way I keep it in the right space. I take out 1/3 evenly round the tree so it doesnt look lopsided.
