I would like to grow some cyclamen coums near some Hellebores. The area I want to plant is about 6ft x 4ft. (Not a complete rectangle but roughly that area). When would be the best time to order and plant them and roughly how many would I need? My computer is not behaving well at the moment and although I have tried to thank people for their help my comments seem not to have got through so thanks again to everyone. Hope this gets through.

Best time to buy is when they are in the Garden centres/nurseries in growth. Do not buy the dried out ones in packets, they are basically dead. That is usually in early Spring when they are available. If you know someone who has them then beg a few corms and plant any time you can get them.
I would say that depending on the size of the corms and how long you are prepared to wait for them to fill the area (and they will, by seed) then allow one decent sized corm per square foot. 20 perhaps?
Myself I would mix Cc. coum and hederfolium in there so that there is either leaf or flower almost all the year round.
