Can anyone remind me of the name of this plant? It is about 30cm high and has striking blue flowers. After flowering the long stems bend over and root down where they touch.

But never seen it bend over and take root before.

Thank you. It spreads quite lightly. I have had it for few years now and it has spread over an area of about 3 metres. Easy to pull up if you don't want it but it is so pretty and does not last very long so I let it go.

Looking at the photo again I am wrong that is not Lithodora! Flowers are similar but leaves most definitely aren't... sorry about that.

I too would say Lithodora flowers ! (but not leaves!)
It's got to be of that family, surely ? !

Yes Boraginaceae family but which one I wonder, off to google.

It was the rooting bit which had me puzzled, so I did not hazard a guess.

Still can't come up with an answer...

Well it will remain a mystery for now. Thanks for trying.

Cynoglossum nervosum?

Could well be, leaf shape is correct.

This seems very possible. I've just looked it up in my book. I'll take the book out tomorrow and look ( it's raining just now - hooray! First proper rain for a month). Thanks for your detective work.

Wish I could look at the one we had, but it failed to reappear this year.

I could try and send you a bit. Do you think that would work?

Thank you, that is very kind, but I am not replacing anything which did not survive this last winter. I am going for new things.
