Well, I'm not sure, but both leaf and fruits look like mulberry to me.

They look like a type of Tayberry but I'm not sure. Then again, Beattie's id is far better so I would go with her.

Don't tayberries grow on canes, like raspberries and loganberries and their cousins...? Not trees.

We stayed at a B&B a couple of years ago that had a mulberry tree in the back garden (must have been a couple of hundred years old), and we were served mulberries for breakfast - wonderful things! I couldn't help picking the odd one on our way out every day. Ever since then I've wanted to grow one. *wishful thought of the week*

Yes Beattie, Tayberries grow like blackberries, on long stems.
Wish I had tried eating the berries on that tree now, but as it was in a carpark I thought it was probably not edible.

I don't think its a mulberry they look more like dark coloured raspberries from what I remember.

you are right Beattie, it is a kind of mulberry but i dont think its the one that grows in england.
this is what they call in france a ''mûrier-platane”
or a wild korean mulberry.

they are grown as shade trees a lot and the fruit is a bit like a raspberry, v nice

Morus rubra has cylindrical fruits like these, as does Morus macroura - trouble is, Morus rubra doesn't have such clearly defined toothed edges to its leaves, the leaf you show here looks much more like Morus alba, which has raspberry shaped fruit. Whichever one it is, it's undoubtedly a Morus though.
