It was OK working outside today, digging manure and compost into the area where my sweet peas will go in the spring - but I have lit the logburner this evening!
Keep wrapped up, Scotkat!

We got frost as well Kath. I took Ed for his morning walk and when I came out into the garden thought to myself 'Self. The forecast was wrong. No frost.' But I was half asleep and forgot that the micro-climate of most of my garden is several degrees warmer than the surrounding area in summer and at least one degree in winter. George my hard-landscaping friend sure knows his stuff. When I got up Oliver's Mount there were pockets of frost in sheltered spots. Oh dear.

That's it. I'm moving to the Med. About 1 p.m. we had a hail shower. Only lasted about 5 minutes. Hail in October? I blame it on the economic downturn.

Previous question
« When is the best time to prune a very overgrown flowering currant? Thanks
We got it a lot colder today Kath. I've been running round with pieces of hessian, a large wad of fleece and a sackful of straw to see if there is anything I have missed. Very unusual this early. Even the babbie sarras have gone into the g.house 1 month early.
