The various cultivars of Magnolia grandiflora all share these characteristics:
More or less large, stiff, evergreen leaves. Leaf size can vary from 4 inches to more than 10 inches long, and 2/3 as wide.
A variable amount of fuzz on the backs of the leaves. Sometimes silvery, or sometimes rusty. the backs of the leaves are noticably a different color than the fronts.
Large--6-12 inches wide--, white, fragrant flowers, with cupped petals. Usually, you get a heavy bloom in late spring, with scattered bloom until mid fall.
