persimmon trees

my kids found seeds in a fruit and planted them.They are now 2yrs on and about 10inches high . Are they hardy enough to live outside ,Ive over wintered them in a cold greenhouse so far ?We live in Sheffield S Yorks . will they ever fruit?

Hi Goldcroft. Most persimmon are hardy in USDA zones 5 to 11 so we are almost certainly OK in sunny Yorkshire.They do fruit eventually from seed but it can take many years. Far quicker from cuttings.
