Could someone please identify this plant for me. It is difficult to photograph as it is growing very close to Honesty and the growth and leaves do look similar. Whereas the Honesty has flowered and now bears seedheads this plant had done neither. It is about 40 inches tall and multi-stemmed. The single leaf shown is about 4 inches long but leaf size does vary.

I also thought leycesteria formosa too, they look a little like a fushia when flowering.

I thought one of those 'fancy oak' saplings.

That's great, thank you, both. Last year Dawn sent me a couple of these plants but neither survived so she sent me another which I still have in a pot. It looks as if one of the non- survivors has indeed survived. Strange though, I have just checked and the one in the pot looks completely different to this one - now I am puzzled!

The single leaf has more lobes than I'd expect, but the rest of the plant looks quite like Leycesteria, which does self seed itself quite readily.
