My rose bushes are covered in what look like ants. How
can I get rid of them

Answers

The ants will be milking the aphids that must be on the roses. If you get rid of the aphids the ants won't bother climbing the roses.

You could spray the aphids, or squash them by hand - gently so as not to damage the roses.

I sometimes use ant spray around the base of the plant (I hate ants!)...it deters the ants for a while and doesn't harm the plant...but then there's still the aphids...
