I have an 80ft border at the front of the house which runs parallel to the drive. It's 3 yrs old now and is beginning to fill. My problem is there is a very mature beech tree half way and don't know what to plant round it to hide the soil. Has anyone got any ideas please.

Lamium maculatum varieties may do the job - they spread, so don't plant too close under the tree initially. I'd recommend Lamium 'White Nancy' particularly.
