Specimen 4 This shrub is in my son's garden of his new house, it had one large flower remaining similar to a magnolia. He would like to know what it is (and so would I).

is it the hankerchief tree? that has odd white flowers and odd leaves too.

Leaf isn't right for Davidi involucrata, has ovate, serrated leaves with heavy veining.
