please is it possible to grow a tree paeony in a deep pot. I ordered a bare rooted one earlier hoping to plant it in the garden but now it's arrived and I've got my leg in plaster so can't dig a hole for it!

Even if it's not a subject for growing in a pot long-term, Sunbeam, I'm sure it will be OK while your leg is healing. After all, that's where the nursery would keep it, waiting for a buyer to come along and choose it. Just keep it watered if we have more dry weather.

thank you - that's a massive relief as it's been sitting in its package in my kitchen for 2 days making me feel so guilty. this is such a brilliant site, someone always has an idea to help other struggling gardeners.

Hello, yes you can for the short term, and then put them in the garden where they will get quite big, however at this moment i have a few tree peonys growing in pots aprox three years old, look great with all the foliage, and placed in a jumble of pots with other perrenials looks great, julien.
