can anyone tell me how to get rid of ants the branches of my shrub are covered in them

thanks bamboo, the shrub is a deutzia it has a honey scent so could that cause the ants to go on it

I agree with Bamboo, check the new leaf growth cos thats where I usually find aphid infestations at this time of year!

Ants on plants usually means they're infested with aphids - treat the aphids and the ants disappear, they're just collecting the honeydew from the aphids.
