how would i go about taking cuttings from a victoria plumb?.

hi please can you help me, i'm new to gardening and i was given a victoria plumb tree,my uncle would like a few cuttings from it,i would like to know where would i start in taking the cuttings and what would be the best time of year to do it.many thanks chris.

If you have been given this tree I imagine it is a young one.
I would not take cuttings from a tree which had not borne it's first fruit.
It would be unwise to try to take cuttings, only a few plums root from cuttings, most are grafted on a rootstock, i.e. common plum, Myrolalan etc.
Best advice would be to buy another tree from the same source.
