what is the white foam that appears on some of my plants usually between the leaves.

It's not insect eggs, Kildermorie. The foam is produced by a little green insect called a froghopper. It's where a young froghopper lives til it matures. If you investigate you'll find a little pale green bug inside it Richcanna. It's sucking a bit of sap, but not enough to threaten the plant. I'd just leave it but you can wipe it off if it offends you.

I call this Cuckoo spit a yellowy insect the Froghopper lives inside the froth where it sucks on the sap. Wash the ‘spittle’ off with a hose if it bothers you but I dont because it not very much and does no harm.

The white foam is actually a mass of insect eggs. You can wash them off with a power wash.
