Sweet Chestnut Tree

United Kingdom Gb

WE have a sweet chestnut tree in our garden which is about 12 mtrs tall and is about 8 mtrs away from the house. We are concerned about its root system and its effect on the house. Can you advise on whether we should remove the tree? Thank you.

Hi Carolinesim,
Do you still want to keep your tree?, it can be root pruned and pollarded. You would miss it if it was gone.
The size of the tree you see can equal the root area.
It shouldn't have any effect on your house except if it was to blow over.

How do I say thanks?
