I am intending to buy a winter honeysuckle-Lonicera Purpusii. T o keep it near to my house could I keep it in a pot and if so what soil would be recommended for the pot? Thank you.

The size of the pot will be critical.
You'll need to buy one that's large, that means one that's at least 2 feet tall and the same wide.

By keeping it potted you run the risk of the pot getting frost damaged aswell as drought stricken and losing the plant in the processes.
