I planted some gazanias in my garden in May, I had received them through the post from Jersey in April and kept them in the greenhouse till planting out, they have grown more leaf but the leaf is curly and there are no signs of them flowering yet, is this normal and are they likely to flower in time?
Thankyou Andrew Rose

Mine, grown from plug-plants, have just started to develop buds...so be patient, and I'm sure yours will too.

As long as they have plenty of sun.

Thankyou for your replies, that sounds very encouraging

Mine are producing buds, Tug - the flowers won't open unless it's sunny or at least bright, though. :-(

In my experience, they won't produce buds if they don't get the equivalent of at least 4 hours of direct sun a day.

Thanks - that's helpful. :-)

They don't usually flower before June and unfortunately, we're having April's weather now (and April had June's weather) and we've had some very cool days and even cooler nights, so plants have slowed down considerably - I'm noticing it with the petunias on my balcony, which are going very slowly indeed. What we need now is some warmth, so if the plants look healthy, it's just a question of waiting I'm afraid.
