Plants for pergolas
Hi everyone. I am planning to build a pergola in my South East facing garden. I am really looking for ideas as to what would be best to grow. At present, after a recent plant buying binge I find myself with 3 evergreen clematis. 1 Armandii Apple Blossom, 1 Armandii Snowdrift and 1 Cartmanii Avalanche. I also have an Actinidia, a Leaping Salmon rose and a honeysuckle without a home and wondered if I could incorporate any of these successfully into the planting scheme?
I would be grateful for your help.
Regards

the thing is with climbers is you can leave them in the pot to get hight on them so they reach the top of the pergola before you actualy plant them in the ground so they can get the sun they need and clematis like shaded bases and sun higher up . it sounds like you have enough climbers already unless its a huge pergola .id put one at each base of a post basicly .
