Fatsia - I have recently bought a fatsia, still in its pot as I am waiting to clear some space in the garden, I have noticed all new shoots are growing crinkly, brown on the edges and as they are getting bigger they are full of holes. We have had regular rain so pot hasn't dried out, what have I done?

Any chance of a picture? In the meantime, turn it out of its pot and check the rootball to see if its potbound - if it is, pot on to a larger container if you're still not ready to plant it out.

it could be damage that the plant had before you got it to .

Pots can dry out very quickly and often rain isnt enough especially during the long dry spell recently. They need regular watering. I wonder if lack of water is the answer.

Good one, Inverglen, I only just picked up on the 'we've had regular rain' comment. Doesn't matter, rain or no rain, needs you to keep it watered - the foliage mostly keeps it out and it needs water at its roots, inside the pot.

How do I say thanks?
