Nerine - Reclassified?

Partner's family are coming over for a visit soon, so I thought I'd take the opportunity and give them a 'wish list' of bulbs and seeds and wanted Nerines - commonly known as 'Jersey Lily.' Then I looked at various internet sites and found that Nerine no longer exists!! Appoarently it's now an Amaryllis! Has this lovely plant been reclassified?

Not so far as I know, though Nerine is part of the Amaryllis family.

Perhaps the confusion arises from the common name you're using. To me, "Jersey lily" is Amaryllis belladonna, not Nerine bowdenii.

Why not have another search, using "Nerine" or "Nerine bowdenii" - I'm sure you'll find it.

Thanks Beattie - I'll try that, although when I first did a search in T&M's site the word 'Nerine' was apparently unknown!

How do I say thanks?
