I bought the seeds of the sweet pea Winston Churchill because of their intoxicating fragrance, I took my first cuttings on the 12th of June and there is no fragrance or smell why?.

Unfortunately, you managed to pick one of the Spencer series cultivars which does not have a fragrance - Winston Churchill and W.J. Unwin are the two which don't have a scent. Next time, choose Beaujolais, Midnight, Noel Sutton, Southbourne or White Leamington, depending which colour you want. All these are Spencer hybrids, and are as tall as Winston Churchill.
