Why would my aquilegia vulgaris stop flowering? This is the 2nd year it's stayed stubbornly flower-less and I'm getting fed up of sites telling me it's an easy-grower and spreads vigorously! It was planted 8 years ago and used to do brilliantly. Other aquilegias in my garden are still flowering ok. Do they just simply get old?

Usually, they just up and die before they stop flowering, though. Weird!

They are not the longest lived perennials and tend to die off after a few years so after 8 years!
