Question about Sweet Peas
I have planted sweet peas in containers and they all seem to have taken well and are looking healthy but I think that I should be doing something which will ensure that they bush out and do not just climb straight up. Can anyone please tell me what I should be doing to ensure a nice full display? Thanking you.

Me too, Flossy. Just pinch the tops 2 or 3 inches of each plant out, and keep feeding the plants, as sweet peas are very greedy feeders, especially in pots. Annie (Cumbria)

Thank you Drc726 and Annie for your replies. I appreciate the advice and will now carry out the pinching and look forward to the flowers a little later in the season - I just love sweet peas!!

I nip the tops off mine once to make them bushier delays the flowers but worth it. I also take off most of the tendrils so they dont strangler the flowers and look untidy. I pick the flowers late every evening to encourage more. Do remember to water around the bottom to reduce the possibility of mildew and feed every week. Good luck and enjoy.
