the other half of its name is [Lysmachia] punctata. I have it in deep shade under the beech tree and although it can be a thug it does a great job for me.

I think the common name may be gypsywort?? It grows just over my fence and is lovely and bright even in the shade, I picked some for the house yesterday - it has survived so far!
Welcome to GoY, bournville is a lovely place, can you smell the chocolate from your house?

Lysmachia (Loosestrife) - pretty, but extremely invasive.
