I have a dwarf pear lilliiput tree which is nearly two years
old, I have noticed this morning one of the branches
has some kind of black insect growing on it,
can you help please!

If only a few rub off with fingers. More try hosing off gently. You can spray with eco washing up liquid suds too. Or remove extensions with aphids on as a summer prune of your pear. One of mine has aphids but they will be eliminated when I prune back to 4 leaf axils past point of outgrowth in the next few days.
