My Escallonia seem to be developing black spots on its lower leaves Is it anything to be worried about and if so is there anything I can do about it?

My Escallonia seem to be developing black spots on its lower leaves Is it anything to be worried about and if so is there anything I can do about it?
This is a common fungal infection that affects many escallonias.
My hedge of them have been affected every year since they were planted !
To prevent it from being 'quite' so bad spray in early spring with a fungicide and do it for a couple of months.
Another tip is to make sure they don't dry out because that seems to exacerbate the problem, give the rootball a really good soaking each week with a hosepipe laid on the ground for 10 minutes and NOT a watering can because that simply won't supply enough water to the entire rootball.
Those are just examples of how to make it LESS so, they won't stop it from happening.
